Big News!
Well, I’ve taken a bit of a hiatus – between going home for the holidays and settling back into the swing of things here in Poland I haven’t had much to write about! We spent a month home in New York over Christmas and New Years. It was a lovely, albeit freezing (I’m looking at you Bomb Cyclone!), time to relax and unplug with family and friends. While we were home, we got to share the most exciting news with all of our loved ones: Konrad and I are expecting a little bundle of joy this summer! A half-Polish/half-mutt baby Dudziak is on the way!
If I’m being honest, pregnancy is most of the reason why I took a little break from blogging. The first trimester really is ROUGH! After going through it myself, I have a newfound respect for all the mamas and mamas-to-be out there. Between the nausea, vomiting, food aversions, migraines, and acid reflux I experienced day-in and day-out, I could barely get off the couch let alone do anything remotely interesting or worth writing about. Side note: why is it still called morning sickness? It should be called all-day everyday sickness. Sigh!
Now that I’m bumping along in the blissful second trimester, we couldn’t be more thrilled for the arrival of our little avocado (…weird nickname, don’t ask). And we’re particularly excited to experience life as parents in Europe! I’m constantly spotting parents walking with strollers, there are parks and playgrounds around every corner, and most cafes and restaurants are equipped with a designated children’s play area. When compared with America, it just seems a lot more family friendly here.
I’ll be writing some pregnancy related updates here, along with life updates and my travel diaries. We have a few exciting trips on the horizon!
xoxo,
Tat
